Its a lovely large flower, it measures about 12cm when made up in DK with a 3.5mm hook. It rather reminds me of a poinsettia, I can see a few red ones being run up over Christmas.
This one is destined for life as a brooch for a friend.
Its very exciting as this will be my first go at publishing a pattern. Its essentially written up but now I'm busy moving elements around in the desktop publishing program to try and make it all pretty but still readable. I want to get this right now so that all my patterns will have the same look and feel to them. Then I'll be braving it and uploading to Ravelry. I have to do a fair amount of research first I think about how to get your pattern up and how to make it appear well in the searches (crochet flower brings up about 64 pages!)
My aim for this year is to publish two fairly simple free patterns to see what the process is (and get any mistakes out of the way) before working on more complicated patterns. Gosh, its in writing now, and out in the ether. I'm going to have to do my best to achieve it now!
