A couple of posts ago I was rather stressed, March has been a very busy month with lots of deadlines. But I can breath again now as all the magazine projects have been completed and sent and the Granny Squares class on Saturday was a big success. There are a few submissions I would like to finish up and an idea for a new design that I hope to self publish is currently bubbling up from mind to fingers. So I shall continue to be busy but without so much pressure.
My first foray into print (a pattern on issue 29 of Inside Crochet) will be out at the end of the month and to celebrate my lovely friend Alice threw me a surprise party complete with a ball of yarn cake
and champagne in the afternoon! I was so touched that my friends had all plotted together to get me there and to show me how much they care and that they are proud of me. Its nice to be spoilt sometimes.
Last night, for the first time, I met another knitware designer IN REAL LIFE. I spend a lot of time online chatting and discussing with other designers on forums and twitter but have never met any of them in the flesh. Elizabeth of
Dark Matter Knits was in town for a conference and suggested that we meet up. She is every bit as lovely as she comes across on her blog and we spent a happy evening chatting about this and that. We were even able to talk about yarn loft without anyone thinking it was where the wool is kept (FYI its basically the fluffiness of it) and blocking without anyone's eyes glazing over. Heaven!
