In my early 20s I would throw parties on Shrove Tuesday and serve everyone pancakes and beer, now I enjoy cooking them for my children. My children also adore pancakes but there is work to be done as two of the three are nutella spreading philistines. Yes it is always lemon and sugar. And, in case you were wondering, I am a turner not a tosser.
How do you celebrate Shrove Tuesday?
*I actually did this once or twice and it isn't wholly advisable.

Turner, nutella and banana fiend but a lemon lover too :) We've had pancakes THREE times today. kids :)
ReplyDeleteSyrup for my boys I am afraid - and even worse my OH only eats American, fat pancakes!!!
ReplyDeleteWe had breakfast for lunch today (totally forgetting it was Shrove Tuesday - talk about philistines). "Fat" American buckwheat pancakes :) with homemade syrup, sausage, and apples sauteed in butter with brown sugar and cinnamon.
ReplyDeleteLemon and sugar sound lovely ... especially with crêpes.
