Looking back

Well it is time for the obligatory blog retrospective, introspective, navel gaze!

So what have I been up to in 2013? Here are some of my highlights!

I got my first number 1 on the hot right now for crochet on Ravelry back in January

In February I launched my first collection, Space for Malabrigo, and held my first CAL.

In March I helped raise money for comic relief and Kat and I launched the first edition of the crochet project to huge acclaim! I've never been in the magazines as often and had such nice things said about me!

In April Kat's book was released and I felt like a proper editor with my name on the dust jacket and a lovely mention in the acknowledgements.

In May I learnt fair isle knitting with the wonderful Ann Kingstone. I know have her beautiful book stranded knits which I will review properly as soon as I get a chance to knit one of the projects. (I will cut a steek!)

In June I started the Things I Didn't Know series which has been really popular - I plan to continue next year. I also started work on my studio - I am still not properly in it! Still waiting for a PC I can afford to come up.

In July and August I planned my 40by40 challenge (which I really need to get going on in 2014!) had two covers for Inside Crochet on the trot and enjoyed a rather wet holiday in Scotland.

In September I packed them all off to various schools and cub camp but achieved little of note as I was back and forth to the school constantly with the half day malarkey our school like to start kids in Reception with!
I did start planning the Suffolk Collection. (And do a lot of tech editing!)

October saw the release of Issue 2 of The Crochet Project (including probably my favourite design)

I still cannot get over how damn good I look in that photo!

At the end of October/ start of November my first crochet art installation was displayed in the Cambridge Botanic Gardens. I was so proud of the display and of the team that designed and made it.

December has seen dyeing, dieting and an awful lot of tech editing to try and get Kat's second book ready for the first deadline!

A very Happy New Year to all my readers, I hope that 2013 has treated you well and you are ready to hit 2014 running. Tomorrow on the blog I shall share my plans for next year.

It's been an awesome year for you, and very fun for your bloggy friends who get to see your name come up so often in the magazines.
