We completely must go to London.

I have these little children.

They are small and very funny.
Sometimes we have crazy ideas like taking them into London on the busiest shopping day of the year.

This book is one of the most popular in our house at the moment so we seized the moment (or possibly grasped the nettle) and leapt on a train heading for the Tower of London.

In the book they visit an astounding array of places in one day. We took it a little slower and toured the Tower

gazed out over tower bridge and the river

met a very nice beefeater

and found a very large number of Father Christmases dancing to a fire breathing tuba player (not pictured)

we ended up at dusk in Piccadilly to watch some street performers and see the Christmas lights.

A really fab family day out. Thanks Lauren Child for the inspiration.
